Lawrence Yu
Physiotherapist (leaside)
Lawrence is a practicing Physiotherapist, with a career spanning 20+ years in the fitness and rehab industry.
Lawrence uses a continually-evolving Cyriax Orthopaedic Medicine approach along with his experience in strength training to provide his patients the optimal rehabilitative treatment.
He is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Queen's University with a passion in developing the upcoming generation of Physiotherapists into the industry and an acting Advocate for expanding the physiotherapy scope of practice. He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Lawrence has worked at the NHL and OHL level and with Tennis Canada as a strength and conditioning coach. He was also an assistant strength coach for Women’s Volleyball and Hockey and Men’s Hockey and Football during his time at York University.
Lawrence instructs for the University of Toronto/ North York General Hospital Emergency Medicine program teaching Orthopaedic Medicine to the 1st and 2nd year Emergency Residents. He holds a teaching assistant position in the Faculty of Health Sciences in Physical Therapy at Queen's University and in the Anatomy department at UofT. Lawrence is also actively involved in the Clinical labs in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto.
Lawrence is a frequent traveler who prefers the simple outdoor lifestyle. He has three wonderful children and an exceptional wife who grounds him.
